Medicon Village is centrally located in Lund on the Swedish side of the dynamic Medicon Valley region centered around Copenhagen.
Drug Discovery Services
Our expertise in chemistry, computational science, in vitro profiling and compound management enables us to tailor unique and versatile integrated drug discovery services and to drive full drug discovery projects with our customers. Our design and synthesis skills of small molecules, peptides, macrocycles and drug conjugates are complemented with robust in vitro biology and ADME capabilities for first, second and third wave screening cycles and fragment screening. We have experience across target classes and indications with a strong track record of innovative and rapid project deliveries from hit finding to clinical candidates.
Being all in one building enabling efficient communication and handovers, we perform fast design-make-test cycles with. A focus area is peptide macrocycle drug discovery where we have expert skills in design and synthesis as well as number of developed assays for drug properties such as solubility, lipophilicity, polar surface area (EPSA), various types of stability and 3D conformations by NMR. We do also offer complementary services via trusted partners (several local) when needed, such as X-ray crystallography, pharmacology, in vivo studies and solid-state property characterization.

Our analytical chemistry services and custom synthesis capabilities are highly demanded by biotech and pharmaceutical, CDMOs as well as many other types of companies with chemistry challenges.We have two teams of experienced synthetic chemists, out of many with in-depth medicinal chemistry knowledge. These teams perform synthesis of small molecules, peptides, macrocycles, carbohydrates, radioligands, conjugates & linkers, and polymers in high quality chemistry laboratories. We have also extensive working knowledge in supplying custom-made impurities and building blocks for major peptide products.
The analytical and separation platform is based on liquid chromatography (HPLC, UPLC), mass spectrometry (MS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) as core technologies. We can effectively solve a range of various analytical challenges and perform qualitative and quantitative analysis and structure identification. NMR is our prime method for in-depth structure and conformational elucidation of complex molecules. Our dedicated separation team supports our chemists with purification of synthesized small molecules and peptides and the analytical teams with isolated impurities or by-products. Our SFC capabilities allow mass-directed chiral separation at both analytical and preparative scale.
